Ironically enough, I had an frustrating experience this past weekend related to this very topic. Trying to save money on my kids' clothes, I hit some garage sales. I did find some really good deals. Unfortunately, somewhere along the line, $60 fell out of my pocket. I went back to the garage sales, and no one (supposedly) had seen anything. I just hope and pray that the $60 went to someone who really needed it and brightened their day.

He makes a good point for his predicament. A bigger lesson for him, though, might be to not buy on impulse - the root of his current dilemma.
