Melissa has her spring break this week. Today we met for lunch at Jade Garden. Here are 5 things from our lunch date:
1. I find so much enjoyment in watching Melissa try to understand a broken-English speaking waitress. She tries so hard not to make the woman feel bad, but still really wants to make sure she's choosing the right kind of soup.
2. A brief conversation about my hair:

2. A brief conversation about my hair:
M: "Hmmm ... looks like you're going with a more professional look today."
T: "Huh?"
M: "It's not as spiked out in the front as it usually is."
T: "When a man does his hair a certain way for years in a row, he loses all ability to tell whether or not it looks stupid. I need your help with that."
M: "Ok. I like it when it's spiked. But it probably looks more like a doctor when it's combed over."
T: "Thank you."

3. It's nice to know that after almost 10 years of knowing each other and 7 years of marriage, I am still funny enough to get my wife to (almost) spit her water out.
4. She is a model of patient endurance. Especially in pregnancy.
5. Out of nowhere, she whacked her funny bone on the table, making a loud noise, and spent the next several minutes laughing until she cried. The first words out of her mouth after she regained her composure:

"Why is it so funny when you hit your funny bone?!"
