Timeless Truth Meets Timely Technology

I'm not much for New Year's resolutions, but I found something that I thought was fantastic. It's no secret that I love the English Standard Version of the Bible. My affection for this version runs much deeper than the translation philosophy. I also love the advancing role that the editors are giving technology to place this version into readers hands, or in this case, ears.

So if you who want to read through the Bible in 2009, or you're one of the fortunate few who snagged an ESV Study Bible last fall, consider following the steps below to download one of several Bible-reading plans as a podcast. A great way to make your daily commute or workout more profitable.
  1. Go to the ESV Reading Plans page.
  2. Right-click (Ctrl-click on a Mac) the “RSS” link of the feed you want.
  3. Choose “Copy Link Location” or “Copy Shortcut.”
  4. Start iTunes.
  5. Choose Advanced > Subscribe to Podcast
  6. Paste the URL from step three into the box.
  7. Click OK.
If podcasts aren't your thing, the various ESV Bible Reading Plans can be found daily on the web, subscribed to through an RSS feed, received via email, downloaded as an iCalendar file, viewed daily in a format friendly to your mobile device, or downloaded as a pdf to your computer and printed out. Your choice.
