From Michael Spencer's Reflections on Being the Parent of Adult Children:
When you have small children, you can simply never realize what it is going to be like to one day face them, as adults, with the realization that YOU have shaped them into the persons they will be for all of their lives. If we realized what it really means to create, nurture and shape another person in the deepest of human ways, we’d be frozen with fear. So much of what they are comes from us in ways that were unintended, or unknown or unplanned. Your children are truly a legacy of the kind of person you really are, and of how you’ve lived, how you’ve loved and what you’ve considered most important.(HT: Zach)

That is why parenting should not be taken lightly ---and is of utmost importance in a one's life. It is scarey to think about how really important it is ------and believe me! With 3 children under age 4 --I did not even have much time to think about what an all encompassing job we had! But now as I reminiese (or whatever) --it does shake me a bit to think I went through such an important job and have 3 (FAIRLY ) (just joking!) functioning adult children with wonderful kids!!
I look at this new daycare venture and feel -good influence is so important to these children.
An old preschool teacher - and most importantly an old MOM. It was the most wonderful thing I could have been through --but never will I say it is easy! OK--do you think we have Sarah Sue and Eric scared now??? MOM
